Lino Losani, Co-Owner of Losani Homes, Dies After Sudden Medical Emergency
HAMILTON, Ont. — The Hamilton community is mourning the loss of Lino Losani, co-owner and president of Losani Homes, who died suddenly last weekend, according to family members. Losani was pronounced dead on Sunday following a medical emergency.
The beloved son of company founder John (Giovanni) Losani, Lino was widely regarded as a pillar of Hamilton’s homebuilding industry. As a celebrated entrepreneur and co-founder of the well-known Losani Homes brand, he dedicated his career to quality residential construction, community-focused development, and advancing housing opportunities across the region.
Losani immigrated to Canada in 1960 with his parents, Giovanni and Maria, who sought a better life for their growing family. After settling in Hamilton’s north end, the family laid the foundation for what would become one of Ontario’s most respected homebuilding companies. In 1972, Lino joined his father in residential construction, and by 1976, the family officially established Losani Homes.
When Giovanni retired in 1998, Lino and his brother Fred expanded the business, creating Losani Homes Ltd., where Lino proudly served as president. Under his leadership, the company earned a reputation for craftsmanship, innovation, and a deep commitment to the communities it helped build.

His decades of impact were recognized in 2019 when he was inducted into the Hamilton-Halton Home Builders’ Association Hall of Fame, an honor reflecting both his professional achievements and his dedication to the region’s growth.
Beyond his work in real estate, Losani was known for his generous spirit, philanthropic efforts, and unwavering integrity. Family, friends, and colleagues describe him as a devoted leader whose influence extended far beyond the workplace.
Lino Losani leaves behind a powerful legacy that will continue to shape Hamilton for generations. The community extends its heartfelt condolences to the Losani family during this difficult time.
